Vung Tau Hotels
Vung Tau is a tourist hot spot and a beautiful resort town. It is situated in the Dong Nai province almost 125 km from Saigon. Vung Tau is less of a town and more of a long strip. You can cover the length and breadth of the town in a couple of hours as it is only 14 km long and 6 km wide. The southern tip of Vung Tau has two definitely different landscapes. On one side is the ocean and on the other side are two mountains known as the Nui Lon (large mountain) and the Nui Nho (Small Mountain).
There was a time when Vung Tau was a part of Bien Hoa and the very first settlements took place in the King Gia Long’s era. The first hotel in Vung Tau was the Arduzer, which was built around the 1870's and it had a special spa for the French. Ober the next 100 years, more vacation homes were built and today the beach resort of Vung Tau is one of the best in the world. There are 3 main beaches in Vung Tau, which is also famous for its temples and pagodas.
One of the best places in Vung Tau is the descending dragon, which is basically a serpentine road that starts from Bai Truoc, runs close to the Small Mountain or Nui Nho and Nghinh Phong or windy point and ends at Bai Sau also known as the rear beach. This is a fmous stretch of road as it offers some of the most spectacular views of the ocean, mountains and the town.
