Nui Thanh Hotels
The district of Nui Thanh is famous for being the home to the archeological site of Bau Tram. The Nui Thanh district falls under the Quang Nam province, which is famous for its brand of Cinnamon called the Saigon Cinnamon. The province has two UNESCO World Heritage sites, one is the ancient town of Hội An and the other is the Mỹ Sơn temple.
The famous Bau Tram site is situated in the Ly Tra hamlet, and includes different types of sand downs that link with each other right along the banks of the Ba Bau River just like Dong Su and Ba Tham. The Bau Tram region in Nui Thanh has been explored and excavated twice. Archeologists found many artifacts that can be dated back to thousands of years and provide indications of the settlement that flourished in this region. Bau Tram has a settlement site and a separate cemetery site too. There are two settlement era’s at Bau tram, one is the Bau Tram I, which can be compared to the Binh Chau era and the other is the Bau Tram II, which provide similar images as found from the excavation sites in Phu Hoa, Thach Bich, Binh Yen, Tam My and Go Ma Voi.
Researchers feel that the various development stages at Bau Tram indicate the existence of the Sa Huynh culture along with Long Thach-Binh, Chau-Phu and Hoa-Sa Huynh cultures. This archeological discovery has put Nui Thanh on the map as travelers from across the globe visit every year to look at the artifacts found during the excavation.
