Long Hai in Vietnam is a small city that is situated 30km from North-eastern Vung Tau. Long Hai is a great place for tourists and although it is a small town, it has plenty to offer in terms of temples, beaches and tranquility. Long Hai has a favorable climate through out the year but some of the months can be extremely hot and humid. The best time to visit this town is just after the Tet festival when the fisherman’s pilgrimage starts. During this pilgrimage, hundreds of fishing boats approach Long Hai to worship and visit the Mo Co Temple. Some of the interesting places that you can visit are the caves near Minh Dam, the mysterious underground tunnels in Dia Dao, and the Pagoda at Chua Phap Hoa.
Long Hai is a 2 hour journey from Ho Chi Minh City (120km). You can travel by taxi, bus or rent a car or motorcycle from Vung Tau. The main attraction of Long Hai are the white powder beaches, which are clean, offer various beach activities and sports and a great place to get a nice sun tan. The Anoasis Beach Resort is one of the finest resorts here and was visited frequently by the last Emperor of Vietnam. In fact, it was his residence and has been converted into a resort so that tourists can enjoy the royal luxuries. It has been built on a hilltop and is surrounded by 13 hectares of tropical forest and offers the most spectacular panoramic view of the ocean, mountains and the surrounding landscape.
