Hoi An is situated close to the South China Sea Coast and is a small city in the Quing Nam province. The most amazing thing about Hoi An is that it doesn’t have a airport or a railway station. So the only way to reach Hoi An is by road. Taxi and buses are available from Da Nang. A bus ride will take you to Hoi An in three hours. There is plenty of things to see and do in this small town like the Japanese Covered Bridge built on a small stream in 1593. There is a small temple on the middle of the bridge and is guarded by dogs on one side and monkeys on the other. It is also known as the Chua Cau or the Pagoda Bridge.
There are many Pagoda’s in Hoi An and one of them is the Phu Kien Pagoda. In fact the best way to move around Hoi An is by a bicycle or take a walk. It is a small town and you can cover the distance from one end to the other in 30 minutes. The best time to visit Hoi An is from January to September, which is the dry season. The temperatures are normally mild throughout the year and the weather is quite pleasant.
In Hoi An you will have to buy an entrance ticket in order to see some of the attractions in the town. You can visit a temple, wooden house, museum, assembly hall and even a music play by using the ticket. You will bring back home some nice memories and don’t miss out on the silk lanterns, which are colorful and have intricate designs.
